SEARCH FOR A WINE

I have been a wine professional, writing about, editing, publishing, tasting and judging wine since 1995, and a wine lover since much longer.  Here, it is my intent to celebrate the traditional (but never boring), the indigenous, and the terroir-driven wines ... the wines that speak to us, with passion, of the place from whence they come. The combination of climate change and the advent of the "international", or "modern" wine style has changed the structure and taste profiles of most of the wines that once seduced me into this profession. These changes have driven me towards more in-depth research into future classic (cool) regions, adaptation options and the ramifications of the cessation of viticulture in many of our classic and beloved regions. To that end, I established TWACCI.org, The Wine and Climate Change Institute, in Oxford.
